Went to Temasek Poly open house with Van, Cat, Ange, Yu Min, Mariah and Eunice today. The visit was really interesting. I can't wait to go to poly! Haha.
Woke up at 8 in the morning and did some homework before leaving. Met Yu Min and Ange at tampines interchange at 12pm before heading to TM's taxi stand to meet Van and Mariah. Decided to have lunch at Yoshinoya. Yu Min, Ange and myself didn't like the food there, so we went to Mos Burger to get a take-a-way instead. Eunice met us there. Went to 77th Street before going down to meet Cat at the taxi stand. She arrived only at 1.30pm.
We took bus down to TP. Reached there around at 2pm. Collected our goodie bags at the plaza area. Malina said that the goodie bag was really awful, but it wasn't as bad as she described it. Haha. The goodie bags came in blue-red, green-red and yellow-red. All of us got the blue-red one. We were asked if we wanted a tour guide to bring us around. Since we didn't know the place well, we decided to get one. Our tour guide was a year 2 engineering student. His name was Gerald. All of us wanted to go to the Business School first. We went to the 'Accountancy and Finance', 'Law and Management', 'Hospitality and Tourism Management', 'Retail Management', 'Marketing', 'Business' and 'Communications Media Management' booths. Got a few pamphlets from each of the booths and a brief about the respective courses.
Woah..the lecturers of TP are nice!! We saw Darryl David, who was one of the CMM lecturers at TP. At the CMM booth, we chatted to two ex-SACians, Annurshah and Denise. They lead us to find out more about CMM which covers journalism, radio-deejaying and other stuff. So cool! Quite fun too. For CMM, English has to be a distinction-A1 or A2.
We went to the School of Design next, followed by School of Engineering, School of Applied Science and lastly School of IT. Didn't have interest in any of them. Went to the CCA hub and OMG! TP has like all the Sports CCA. If I can get into TP in future, I would defintely join a sports CCA. Netball, Canoe-Polo, Tennis, Wakeboarding....CCA is optional in poly though but to be all-rounded, most poly pupils do take up a CCA.
Our tour guide brought us to the poly's 11-storeys library too. He said that TP was the only poly that students are allowed to make noise in. There is even a place for students to watch TV, sleep, perform etc. Gerald brought us to TP's book shop too. They even sell swimming stuff there! How cool can that be!
Malina went on Friday and she said that there were alot of cute guys there, so all of us expected to see at least some, but in the end, there wasn't any at all! Right! Oh the students at TP says that all the handsome guys and pretty ladies are at the Business School. Haha. I've yet to see so. Left TP at about 5pm.
At the bridge, all the TP students gathered to cheer and thank all of us for visiting TP. It was scary as there were like so many of them and they were all cheering so loudly. We didn't dare to walk past as it was like so embarassing, but we didn't have a choice. Haha. Took 69 back to tampines interchange, then took an MRT to Kembangan. Daddy and Mummy picked me up there.
