HAPPY TWENTEEN GWEN! ♥

Great night in the company of good ol' friends - movies, catching up over tea, dinner and ice-cream. Hope you enjoyed our little celebration and the present, Gwenny.

Nicole Lim Hui
8 October 1990 - 18 August 2009

Dearest Nicole,

You have left us all too soon and I guess all of us are still in immense shock and deeply saddened by your passing. I will always remember your megawatt smile and loud greetings whenever we meet, and also the one who brought so much joy and laughter to SAC Concert Band. I believe you are in a much happier place right now, in the comforting arms of the Lord. Wherever you are, please take good care my dear. Thank you for being such a great friend and junior. I will definitely miss how you used to call me your "Hamster", your loud burps, ass-grabbing and boobs-hitting manners. You will always be loved and remembered.

Rest In Peace.

Multimedia project is the death of me!
I can't wait to get it over and done with. Thereafter, I can officially call it my break tomorrow.
I spent a ridiculous six hours doing up the subtitles for a six minute short video clip.
We better get an A!
My eyes are teary and my head is spinning.
& God knows what's wrong with the file now.
Apparently, there's some coding error in it. We're having problems burning it into the cd. Damn!
Thank God there is Mister Intellectual.

My attachment has officially ended, hence the luxury to sit down to write a decent post.

I'm contemplating whether I should insert the word 'finally' or not. It was probably more like a dread for most of us.
I enjoyed myself quite abit and needless to say, I did learn alot as well.
Tenning the reception, filing, keying in stuff will always be applicable to interns, but I'm glad to say that that wasn't my 'full time' job scope, in fact it was very minimal, probably only did for the initial few days when I began work, when my duties weren't settled. I was given real work to do, something the perm staff did as well - handling some cases on my own and assisting the audit seniors with their jobs on-hand. Not too bad right?

I guess what made my time there flew past in a jippy were the people, my fellow friends (Aneesa, Baoru, Sarah) and my colleagues are really nice people to work with.
My colleagues were really engaging in our learning. They taught you what you want to know, and what you should know.

Sometimes you have to know your limits (of asking) and at times, just make decisions on your own. It's not easy being caught in the middle and I found myself in those situations countless of times. Well, it is stressful and you just have to stop and really think how to put things across or just make some decisions on your own without consulting your colleagues. & I'm quite glad that they allowed me to exercise some of these discretions of mine and not just put them down all the time.

I presume its the fact that I know that there is an end to this internship and that I sometimes get this rush running through my head when I'm suddenly tasked to do several things at one time - the feeling can be quite exhilarating. But I certainly doubt I'll be saying this if this was in my profession. I'll be bored ballz!

Besides learning on the job skills, there are soft skills that you'd pick up along the way, definitely not found in the books. I think what's most important here is humility, that has been resonating in my head throughout this attachment. & everything's about balance and there's no doubt that it applies here as well.

All in all, I think I had a fruitful time the past six months.
Stressed yes, but worth it.
I can't wait to be back in school in two months.
Right now, I think I do deserve a good break.

Skinny Pizza at Suntec for dinner with bie! The end of a six-month long attachment calls for a celebration.

This was the Wild Truffled Mushroom skinny pizza. Fresh and earthy but could be overwhelming for a starter to the meal. We thought the Squid Ink Pizza was done very well with all that chunky calamaris, prawns and scallops on top of it. It was indeed, heavenly.

The pizzas were great, especially for those who don't eat the crust of the pizza. Over here the ingredients are served on a thin crispy chip-like base (it can get pretty messy), with the freshest and organic goodies. Hence if you like your mozzarella cheese thick with all that usual pizza junk, this might not be the choice for you.

NDP Preview - 1 August 2009

The national day parade this year beats the past years. Great performances they've got and it was fawesomely interesting! Fireworks were as spectacular as ever.

What made this year's NDP more special was catching it with Olieee! Last year he had the tickets but I couldn't watch it with him since I had my NDP ushering duties. Thank God for tickets this year. Nehoos, we could have taken more pictures if not for his camera battery (not one, but two) that went flat half-way through the show.
