When we arrived, we still had to queue under the really scorching sun for security checks. Thankfully, it wasn't terribly long. Highlights of the event included aerial display, aircraft rides, display of the advanced weapon systems, flight stimulus, carnival activities (hot air ballon rides through lucky draws) and there were also RSAF display booths. OLI BOUGHT ME MY FAVOURITE BLACK KNIGHTS PIN! BLACK KNIGHTS Y'KNOW! & I got upclose with the Black Knights too! WOAH!
Went over to Bugis for late lunch and we walked around. I never did like shopping centres on weekends, it gets so so packed with human traffic that you have to squeeze your way through.
Dinner with the family at Marche Vivo City. Its so much smaller compared to its previous outlets (which shut its doors some time ago) in Heeren and Suntec. Half the size of it I guess and obviously, also accomodated fewer people. Dinner was great, it was most fun. Dad and I, being greedy mofos, had a lot. Shopping and B&J's for ice-cream thereafter.
Such a great start to the weekends, carefree. (:

Flying by Singapore Airlines! Oh and lodging in a five-star accomodation- Blue Horizon International Hotel. Unlike the initial plan of flying by China Eastern Airlines and accomodation at a three-star hotel.

The past few weeks of the Beijing 2008 Olympics triumphs and defeats have been nothing short of awe inspiring and tear jerking. We see athletes overcome their fear and insecurities, pushing themselves through mental barriers and overcoming physical hurdles. They have rewritten history by smashing old world records and proving that the impossible is nothing. They are the closest we will ever come to having a Superhero and we must be proud of them. Nations spend millions of dollars training top sports athletes and importing foreign talents. Everybody goes to the Olympics in hope that they can bring back a medal, for themselves, for the country.
Singpaore's Tao Li. The first ever Singaporean swimmer to enter the olympic finals, coming in fifth despite being the shortest swimmer among all her other competitors. Singapore's really proud of her. 
And who can forget our wonderful Table Tennis team who ended the 48 year medal drought for Singapore and finally brought home a medal! The match was so nerve-wrecking, I nearly had a heart attack watching it. The ball was flying back and forth and back and forth and wooaaahhhh, KILLER!
You know, Singaporeans just can't stop complaining and whining. Complain about foreign talent, complain about local talent, complain about not winning a medal, and complaining again even when we won, complain complain complain! No really, is it such a big deal that our table tennis team is from China. Is is such a big deal that Tao Li is from China?
I think in sports, everything is black and white. You either have the talent or you don't, you either win or lose. If local sportsman cannot deliver, there is no reason why we should not import foreign talent. Were you not proud when you saw the Singapore flag raised during the award ceremony? Were you not the least bit proud, that no matter where these girls were born, they had won for the medals for Singapore?
We've won a medal Singapore. Be grateful that Li Jia Wei and co. wanted to come to Singapore to represent us. Somebody wrote into the forum asking, almost challenging Singapore to send in a true blue Singaporean team to the Olympics, my question is, would that even matter?
Everybody came together on Sunday as the gold medal match was playing out. Every Singaporean was rooting for the Singapore team. Now isn't that all that matters?

Seven weeks of holidays!
Finally the end of yet another semester. & its one and a half years of poly education left on the list.
These exams were draining, mentally draining. I had four modules to sit for- Audit, Cost, Financial Management and Intermediate Financial Accounting. They were averaged papers. I'm really worried that I might not do well. But oh well, whats done has been done, shall just awai the results.
Oli and I went to catch the Singapore Fireworks Festival at Marina Promenade. French Romance; it was spectacular! They shot the fireworks from the promenade itself, and it really felt like the fireworks were coming down on you, right in front of your very eyes. Awesomely beautiful.

I'm glad I got to cover all the various deployments; NE show 1- Funpacks, NE show 2- Blue Sector, NE show 3- Tao Nan School, NDP Preview- VIP Outer Cordon and the best of it all NDP- Grandstand VIP Lounge, where the five of us from F2 got to meet the ministers! That was NDP at its best. A moment to cherish, really.
Anyhoos, I wanna thank everyone of you from F2 for making my NDP experience such a memorable one. Love always, the bunch of Natalie, Miranda, Rui Shan, Jacinda, Jolene, Kash, and definitely, the rest as well. Gonna miss our gossiping and screaming! & thanks to Michelle, for leading F2 through this. Matthew too, for bringing F2 together and arranging all our group bonding sessions- which was what drew F2 together, even though he'd withdrawn in the midst.
I'm definitely looking forward to NDP 2009.
