This was the day we've all been playing for; our very own SACSS Band Concert, which also featured bands from our sister schools, SACPS and CCPS, as well as SAC Percussion Band and Alumni Band. The last concert we had was two years ago, which was also at VCH. The year which I graduated if I'd remembered correctly. The concert today was our Alumni Band's debut since it was formed earlier this year. Despite having only four practices, we sounded a whole lot better than our usual, with the two pieces we played; Music from West Side Story & Abba Gold.
Everyone played their best, keeping Sir in mind. More like, it was for Sir rather than anyone else, though sadly, he couldn't turn up for this concert. & reliving the good ol' band days: the brass sections were always emptying their instruments of saliva, and yeah, the simply awesome trombone players could just pour their salivary shit all over the floor, and the poor quarter mistress was constantly replacing reeds, how the leaders used to punish the latecomers. Oh and to take an instrument home, you had to write in The Book.
Alright, I'll digress now.
THE SAC BITCH FIT! Had the best time catching up, though we were very busy madly rushing around preparing for the concert. So great to see all my family there as well (Mom, sis, gramms, uncles, aunts, cousins, Oli). Daddy couldn't make it though. Met the very missed ol'school girlfriends and teachers after the concert. Indeed a number of them. Oh and the most shocking, Miss Masura. OhMyGawd, she totally had some makeover or whatever, just look at her now! SHOCKING! Initially, she could hardly ever recogonise any of us, until we told her our names and which class we were from, before she jumped in glee and excitement, with her apologies. So cute, I swear! It was damn hilarious. Oh no, how I missed those E.Maths days now, and Miss Masura's squeaky-high-pitched voice. Hahaha!
To sum the night up, music was good while it lasted, good to see people, hear voices.
THE NIGHT WAS A BOMB! Never had the band-feel for ages!
SAC Concert Band, with love! (:
