We got a SILVER for SYF today. I'm so disappointed. Our band played really well. We could have gotten the Gold we've all been waiting for, but because the previous schools that played before us were top bands like RI and ACS(I). And i must say that my section played exceptionally well for 'Panther Fire' solo part. After we played, all of us were very happy and were somewhat expecting a Gold. When the results were announced,we cried. I couldn't believe my ears. The judges were deaf. The ex-seniors said that we played well and they were proud and happy of what we have gotten. Sigh. But I'm still sad. I mean sad as we could really have gotten the Gold and poor Sir, he worked really really hard,we should have at least gotten a Gold for him. Sir said we did well and much better than expected but because of those good schools before us. He said he was happy with us but i dun think so. I bet he was really disappointed with us but he didin't show it. He didn't want to show us,afraid that we might get disappointed even more. He was trying to cheer all of us up by telling us that Silver wasn't bad. Poor sir. We've let him down. We've let the school down. We've let the rest of the band down. I think we're on the higher-end Silver. I was suppose to go out with my friends after that for lunch but we did not have the mood to. I hope that in school tmr, we won't get looked down upon and no criticisms will be made. We've done our best! I've learnt to love Concert Band alot more!! :)
ACS(I) and Anglican High got Gold with Honours. Oh yah..I saw Ho Wen Long, the 'Like My Own' actor. He sat in front of me and my juniors in the hall when we were watching the other bands perform. And another actor from 'Kids United'. They're from ACS(I) Concert Band. OMG! Can't believe it...TKGS used to be the top band in Singapore but they got a Gold instead of Gold with Honours. I could see that they were disappointed too.
